What is Micro-SIM adapter designed for?

In case you have a data plan or service with any mobile operator, no matter whether it is the plan for your handphone or USB-modem, you have a card slot of the second generation (2G) and therefore will not be able to insert your SIM into iPad.

Alternatively, if you have a new Micro-SIM from iPad, it will not fit into your iPhone either. As there will be various devices in the market, such as cell phones, USB-modems, laptops and so on, featuring either old or new slots, you will be unable to interchange SIM-cards between them unless you use an adapter for Micro-SIM.
